NPO
Please remember not to eat or drink anything 8 HOURS before your procedure. If you have medication that you take on a daily basis, please take these medications with a SMALL sip of water.
Blood Thinners
If you take blood thinners on a daily basis, please reach out to your prescribing physician to adjust your dosing schedule in preparation for your procedure.
GLP-1
If you take a GLP-1 agonist for diabetes or weight loss (Ozempic, Mounjaro, Trulicity, Byetta, Bydureon, Victoza, Saxenda, Xultophy, Rybelsus, Wegovy, Adlyxin, Soliqua, Tanzeum), please STOP THIS MEDICATION 1 WEEK BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE. If it is a once weekly injection, please stop the injections AT LEAST 1 week before your procedure.
Asthma/COPD
If you take medication for asthma or COPD, please continue taking your medication on the day of your procedure. If you have a rescue inhaler (albuterol), please take a dose of inhaled medication on the day of your procedure. Please bring your inhaler with you to your procedure.
Tobacco/Alcohol
Do not smoke or drink alcohol on the day of your procedure or for the 24 hour period before your procedure.
Driving/Operating Heavy Machinery
Please plan to have a guardian present for the day of the procedure. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or make material decisions for the 24 hours following your procedure as you are still chemically impaired.
Makeup/Jewelry/Removable Items
Please do not wear heavy makeup on the day of your procedure. Please remove all Jewelry before your procedure. If you wear contact lenses or dentures, please remove them before your procedure.
